Using Anesthetic Cream to Facilitate Easy Painless Laser Hair Removal
Usage of an anesthetic cream is not mandatory in all cases of laser hair removal. Some patients might tolerate such pain without using any kind of anesthesia. But for prevention sake a doctor can advice applying topical anesthetic cream prior to treatment. One of the common anesthetic creams used for the procedure is ELMA. This is more required when the skin to be treated is sensitive. Application of anesthetic cream numbs the area where laser hair removal process is to be performed, so that there is less sensation of pain during treatments. The cream is supposed to be applied about half an hour prior to the procedure and the treatment area needs to be shaved before applying the cream. Time required for treatment depends on area to be treated. Smaller body parts need short time spans while larger parts like legs and back require about an hour. Even after the procedure soothing gels are applied and the patient is asked to relax before being discharged.
